| Bankers to teachers
Challenge
As Lehman Brothers fell, we realised mass redundancies in the banking industry could help the Training and Development Agency for Schools meet its goal of recruiting more high-quality teachers.
Solution
We used statistics revealing increased enquiries about teacher training to point to this new trend, and held recruitment events opposite Lehman Brothers. Case studies focused on the quality of new additions to the teaching stock, and competition amongst high-flyers to become a teacher.
Impact
The ‘bankers to teachers’ story has secured continuous coverage for the last 18 months across national print and broadcast media and passed into the national psyche culminating in the TDA meeting its annual teacher recruitment targets for the first time.
